Dr. Oliver Sutherland is a Lecturer, Medical Imaging Consultant, and academic leader at the University of Zambia. He has significant experience in clinical practice, education, research, and regulatory governance, contributing to medical imaging education and professional standards in Zambia and Southern Africa.

At UNZA, he holds several leadership roles including Postgraduate Coordinator in Radiography, Chairperson of the Graduate Proposal Presentation Forum, and PhD Coordinator for Distance Education. He has developed curricula and taught at major Zambian institutions and supervised MSc and PhD students.

He serves as Chief Examiner for Medical Imaging licensure exams under the Health Professions Council of Zambia and acts as an external examiner and reviewer for regional institutions. Dr. Sutherland has held leadership positions in professional bodies such as the Sonography Society of Zambia and the Radiological Society of Zambia, and is a member of prominent continental and international radiology organizations.
His research focuses on diagnostic ultrasound, radiation safety, CT imaging, and workforce development. He contributes as an editorial board member and peer reviewer for international medical science journals and acts as a consultant in clinical imaging quality assurance.
