Fetal Growth Liquor and Doppler Assessment
Distinguish fetal size from growth.
Why this matters
Fetal measurements, amniotic fluid assessment and Doppler findings can contribute to decisions about pregnancy surveillance and care. Inconsistent technique, incorrect dating information or interpretation without the wider clinical context may create a misleading picture. A single measurement also needs careful consideration alongside previous findings and the recognised limits of the examination.
This course explains why measurement quality, appropriate reference standards and reliable documentation matter. It helps learners connect technical choices with the information used by the clinical team, recognise uncertainty and seek expert review when findings or image quality raise concerns. The aim is to support consistent assessment and communication within an approved pathway, with attention to both the pregnant person's experience and the consequences of the information reported.
What you will learn
- Distinguish fetal size from growth.
- Check biometry and chart validity.
- Compare fluid assessment methods.
- Explain Doppler acquisition and indices.
- Recognise findings needing qualified review.
- Produce a traceable growth report.
