Congratulation message to Professor Chilengi on the appointment.

Radiological Society of Zambia -RSZ warmly congratulates Professor Chilengi on the appointment as the new Minister of Health and wishes him success in this important responsibility.
We commend the Government of the Republic of Zambia for its continued investment in strengthening diagnostic imaging services, particularly through the equipping of health facilities with advanced modalities such as Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
As Zambia expands access to these technologies, the Radiological Society of Zambia wishes to highlight an equally important area requiring attention:
specialised postgraduate training in advanced imaging modalities.
The absence of structured postgraduate training pathways in CT and MRI creates challenges in ensuring adequate specialised expertise to operate, optimise and maintain these increasingly sophisticated systems. This can affect the quality and efficiency of imaging services and may contribute to inappropriate utilisation, equipment downtime and avoidable scanner breakdowns.
We therefore encourage the Ministry of Health to consider supporting training institutions in developing and strengthening postgraduate CT and MRI programmes for medical imaging professionals.
Investing in advanced equipment must go hand in hand with investing in the specialised human resources required to maximise that equipment.
The Radiological Society of Zambia remains committed to working with the Government, training institutions and other stakeholders to strengthen medical imaging services and improve healthcare outcomes for the people of Zambia.
